South Africa Safari Holidays
Enter the Wild
Most people believe that no trip to Africa is complete without a safari to see the majestic animals that roamed the lands before the European migration. There is no question that South Africa offers some of the best safari on the whole continent and in particular at sunrise and sunset the sounds of the bush and the smells of the wilderness are something that will remain with you for a long time.
We feature a wide variety of safari experiences including National Park rest camps and private game reserves that perhaps offer a more complete experience. We offer both malaria free safari in the Eastern Cape and the North West of South Africa and other safari in areas that mean proper malaria precautions should be taken. We believe that to get a full safari experience a minimum of two nights is essential, but you will find that by staying for three nights your chances of spotting the Big 5 are greatly enchanced.
Details of your typical safari day:
05.30 Wake up with tea and coffee
06.00 Early morning game drive including coffee in the bush
09.00 Return to camp for breakfast, normally served on the veranda
13.00 Lunch is served, often by the pool
16.00 Tea/coffee and cake
16.30 Evening game drive
20.00 Return to camp for evening meal and discussions on the day
Between the activities you are encouraged to use the facilities of the camp, including the swimming pool, or just relax. It’s surprising however how many times during this relaxation period that with the use of binoculars you get some outstanding wildlife viewing due to the position of the lodges.
Our South Africa safari selection:
We have selected a wide variety of safari experience that vary widely in budget and location. All safari tagged “Eastern Cape” and “North West Province” are malaria free.
Our staff are able to tailor a safari to meet the experience that you desire and in particular with the type of game viewing that you wish to see. For instance, Phinda is excellent for bird life, being adjacent to the St Lucia Wetlands, whilst Londolozi is widely acknowledged to be perhaps the best location to see leopard. Each safari is different, it has a different character and in particular if there are children, the choice needs to be even more carefully made to ensure that their experience and the experience of other safari guests is fully met. Please talk to our staff or request our brochure for further details.
