Today the train travels on a regular basis between Pretoria, the nation’s capital, and Cape Town and reverse, and Cape Town to Port Elizabeth on a more limited number of occasions each year.
The principal Cape Town – Pretoria route takes 27 hours and covers some 1600km through some of the very best scenery that South Africa has to offer. Your accommodation on board the train is either in a deluxe suite or a luxury suite fitted out to 5 star hotel standards. The on board dining is a showcase of the very best of gourmet cooking in South Africa and features some of South Africa’s finest wines. On board the train, as befitting its elegance, guests are expected to dress for dinner, and after dinner you can relax with a drink and a chat with new friends in the lounge and club cars.
The Cape Town – Port Elizabeth route runs on a more limited number of occasions during the year and traverses some of the very best scenery of the world famous Garden Route.
Whichever journey you choose you can be assured of the finest service and accommodation.
