The Garden Route, South Africa
South African Fly Drive
One of the most beautiful areas of South Africa is the Eastern and Western Cape, Cape Town and the Garden Route. Although many brochures feature this area we believe that our unique fly drive itinerary featured in our brochure encompasses all that is good in the region, together with a few extra visits and destinations not featured by many other companies.
Since 1580 Cape Town has been a haven for travellers and was recently voted as one of the top five cities in the world to visit. For most people this will be the start and end point on their fly drive holiday, given the good connections from Cape Town to the UK. The fly drive features visits to the wine lands, Oudtshoorn with its ostrich farming and the magnificent Cango Caves, Graaff-Reinet with Desolation Valley, the rolling farmlands of the Eastern Cape, some of which feature malaria free safaris, the arid area of the Great Karoo and the classical Garden Route from Port Elizabeth and Cape Town. Part of your holiday is centered around Knysna, with its magnificent lagoon, so convenient for discovering in more detail all that the Garden Route has to offer. During the whale watching season, between July and early December, Hermanus is a focal point for many with the best land based viewing of whales anywhere in the world. No visit to this area would be complete without a trip to Cape Point and Cape Aguilhas, the most southerly point in Africa.
