Victoria Falls South Africa The essence of Victoria Falls, the world's largest waterfall. Victoria Falls are spectacular and of awe-inspiring beauty and grandeur on the Zambezi River, bordering Zambia and Zimbabwe. To experience the falls for yourself, please see our add-on package below. |
Many clients wish to combine a trip to South Africa with a visit to Victoria Falls, one of the world’s most spectacular natural phenomena. To this end we have put together a three day add on package to facilitate this request. Given the current political climate we have elected to stay on the Zambian side of the Falls, but have included an excursion to the Zimbabwean side as a day trip. Zambezi Sun Zambezi Sun is a Gobi style hotel simply finished with bright mosaic colours and fabrics close by to the magnificent Victoria Falls. The accommodation is in eight buildings round a central pool area and the complex is serviced by a centrally located check-in area, restaurant and bar. Widely used by The Independent Traveller clients over the last few years, it has proved to be a highly popular hotel within easy access to all the attractions of the local area. Royal Livingstone Hotel, Victoria Falls One of the Leading Hotels of the World, this 5 star property is located along the banks of the Zambezi River, just a short walk away from Victoria Falls itself. The superbly furnished rooms and thatched main building with its wide verandas demonstrate its heritage and roots in the colonial past. The Royal Livingstone offers a superb dining room experience with a wide choice of dishes, and also a river deck bar where you can watch the rainbows form in the spray from the Falls as the sun sets. Itinerary Day 1 - Your First Glimpse Of The Falls… Depart Johannesburg for Livingstone on your mid-morning flight. On arrival transfer to Mosi-oa-tunya National Park. This park lies adjacent to the Zambezi River and the Falls themselves, and as such you can have 24 hour access to the beautiful Falls area without further cost. Day 2 - Late Afternoon Cruise… After a leisurely breakfast you will transfer to the Zimbabwean side, which provides a different perspective as the Falls relentlessly cascade 350 ft. After lunch, you will return to the Zambian side in time to board your late afternoon Sundowner Cruise, which gives you access to some tremendous bird life and the opportunity to see the hippos at play. Day 3 - Your Last Glimpse Of The Falls… Around lunchtime you will transfer back to Livingstone Airport for your mid afternoon return flight to Johannesburg.
