Kruger & Mpumalanga Fly Drive Itinerary

Day 1 Your first taste of Africa

Most flights leave the UK in the early evening and travel through the night to arrive into Johannesburg early the following morning.

Day 2 Welcome to Africa

You will be met at Johannesburg Airport by our personal Meet & Greet service and a transfer arranged to your hotel in either Johannesburg or Pretoria. The area has much to offer and we will discuss the options for the remainder of the day.

Day 3 Scenic Mpumalanga

Spectacular landscapes and a wealth of history are to be found in this area. The Highlands Meander allows you to discover this area at your own pace. Great fishing and bird life viewing. Some of the bloodiest battles of the Boer War were fought in this area. Overnight Hazyview.

Day 4 The Panorama Route

The drive along the Panorama Route features some of the finest mountain scenery in Africa. The look out points - Wonder View and God’s Window, give an indication of the spectacular scenery in this area. Whilst in the area we will guide you to scenic Route 532, forgotten by many, but with amazing waterfalls visible from the road. Overnight Hazyview.

Day 5 & 6 Safari

When visiting Africa, and South Africa in particular, safari is almost always on people’s list of “Must do’s”. The Kruger National Park and the surrounding safari areas are home to one of the highest concentrations of animals in the world. The Big Five and the Significant Seven are all to be found in abundance. Please look at pages 29-31 for full details of safari in this area and beyond. Overnight Kruger Park area dependent on which safari chosen.

Day 7 Dullstroom – a small town with a big history

Your final night on this fly drive will be in Dullstroom, a small mountain town famous for its excellent fly fishing, boutique shops and restaurants. A unique town with the distinction of having the highest railway station in South Africa. Overnight Dullstroom.

Day 8 Fly home or to other parts of South Africa

It is now an easy drive to Johannesburg International Airport for your return flight to the UK, which departs in the early evening, or continue on your travels in South Africa.

Other things to do in the area
